Furnaces

Furnace types vary, including Gas, Oil, or Electric, and we would be happy to help you determine the best furnace for your needs. The most common furnace in the Vancouver WA area is usually an Electric Furnace. This, when installed, works in conjunction with a thermostat located within your home. The thermostat senses when the temperature of your home drops below a certain set level and alerts the furnace to begin heating the home. This heated air is then blown throughout the house via ductwork and vents, and raises the temperature of the home to the desired level. These gas furnaces are known for their extremely high efficiency heating, being up to 95% efficient. This means that 95% of the fuel you use goes directly toward heating your home. Often, Natural Gas providers will offer significant rebates when you install one of the newest, most energy-efficient Natural Gas furnaces, making the cost savings even more attractive. Natural Gas burns cleaner than oil, is instant, offers exceptionally even heat, and is reliable and trouble-free. Being piped directly to your house, you will never have to worry that your tank is empty---the supply is always available.

Heat Pumps

Often, we advise using a Heat Pump in conjunction with a furnace in order to save on utility costs. A Heat Pump, rather than create heat like a furnace, simply transfers heat from one area (air or ground) to another (in this case, your home). It uses a smaller amount of energy to transfer that heat. As a bonus, the heat transfer of the heat pump can be reversed in the summer, pulling heat out of your home and depositing it in the air or ground, therefore cooling the interior of your home.
